Woodland Carbon Code

Woodland Creation Through The Woodland Carbon Code

Identify Land
The first step is to consider how much land you wish to plant and the location of the project. You may want to have a large woodland block or several blocks on your land.

Discuss Requirements
The next step is to contact us to discuss your requirements. We will run through the process and look at the options for your woodland project.

Assess Suitability
We assess the land for suitability taking into consideration the location. Different soils and environments will determine which trees to plant.

Carbon Capture Calculated
When a decision has been made on the location and size of the woodland, we calculate how much carbon will be captured over the lifetime of the woodland.

Registration With The Woodland Carbon Code
We register the project with the Woodland Carbon Code which is a government assurance standard. Once registered, we can also discuss with you the option of selling your future captured carbon with the Woodland Carbon Guarantee. This is a government scheme in the form of an auction giving you a guaranteed price up to 2055. An alternative is to sell the carbon credits on the open market.

Transfer & Sell Carbon Credits
When the process is complete the carbon credits are transferred into the Markit registry. We manage this account and transfer these credits to companies buying carbon.

Please contact us to discuss your plans further
